Burlap wreath

I wanted a not so traditional spring wreath.  As always, I went to the blog world and found lots of ideas.  But one in particular caught my eye, the burlap wreath.  It's different but very popular so its safe.  I ventured to wally world and bought 2 yds of burlap.  I had the wreath in the good will box with xmas ribbon and berries on it.  I ripped of the decor and started over.  Although I didn't give it away, I recycled.  I'm pleased with the outcome.

I'm ready for spring!

The Hoosier

The hoosier cabinet is a piece of history.  Before we had these great functional kitchens, we had free standing furniture.  They would serve as a pantry, cabinet and working counter. I bought mine a few years ago and she was a mess.  She had been badly stripped and revarnished.  So I took on a new project. I stripped and sanded until I couldn't no more.  I became best friends with the Dremel.  That little tool is great for all those little nooks and crannies. I decided to repaint her. There were too many hole to putty old and new.  She had been abused but now she is proudly displayed.

I am very thankful we live with such modern conveniences.  But I do wish life was as simple as it was in the past.  And maybe less busy too!

Success at Luckett's

I ventured in the cold weather on Saturday to Old Luckett's Store.  It was their annual Ground Hog Day Sale!  It was busy to say the least.  And many items were already marked sold at the design house.  I was sad over and over again until I found these beauties.  Two mirrors with such architecture design and they haven't been taken.  I proudly ripped off the tags and continued to browse around, and found a distressed console which is temporary serving as a buffet to hold the mirror.  My husband did say "put some stuff on the walls, they echo".  He did not procrastinate, by Sunday the large guy "mirror" was up and reinforced to the studs.  The new house is slowing coming along.

blogging

Blogging takes up a lot of time.  I would have never guessed how much until I tried it on my own time.  I thought, I'll make my own blog how hard could it be! Haha! This is only the second time I had the TIME to even begin. So here it is: The christmas decorations are down, not everything is put back to normal and I can't remember where I put various decor.  That's the beauty in a new home.  Not all things look the same or better.  So its a challenge.  A challenge I look forward to, a new chapter in  my busy little life at the moment.
